Don’t just believe us, hear from our recent graduate. Pat, Business Graduate Degree Studied: Bachelor of Arts and Law What rotations did you experience during the program? I completed rotations across specialist finance, Westpac SME (which is Small to Medium Enterprises) and business bank product. Each rotation provided me with exposure to different areas. In specialist finance, I was focused on supporting our auto distribution team. In SME I assisted in the delivery of a new operating structure for our front-line staff and spent time shadowing a team of local business bankers before finishing the program in business product, where I was involved in reviewing the uplift of our products and how we can digitise the new to bank process for customers. The business program gives you a wide range of exposure to different projects and customer groups. In my specialist finance rotation, I was also fortunate enough to champion a leads management pilot program. It was powerful to be supported by my people leader to be trusted to deliver a project like this. In my SME rotation I worked with our bankers meeting customers and structuring deals while also being involved in the delivery of a new operating system for our front-line staff. What has been a key learning for you during the graduate program? I learned it is important to keep an open and curious mind during the graduate program. I’ve learnt so much, not just about banking and financial services, but also about how to think strategically for our customers.
