Don’t just believe us, hear from our recent graduate. Louis, Business Performance & Analytics Graduate Degree Studied: Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Commerce Why did you choose a Graduate role at Westpac Group? I chose a Westpac Graduate Program because it presents a unique opportunity to work and learn within a huge Australian organisation. The Group also provides its graduates with ongoing leadership training and a large support network of leaders and peers, which can be very important when making the move from university to a career. What attracted you to this Program? Coming out of university where I didn’t study a data related field, I chose the BPA Program because it was an exciting opportunity to learn new skills and apply those to use and manage the Groups data. I was also attracted to the program because it provides exposure to how the wider bank functions, in particular the Consumer and Business Banks. How have you developed across your graduate year? I believe I have picked up an entirely different skill set after a year in the grad program. In the past year I’ve learned how to write code, analyse business processes and policies and manage change methods. Beyond these ‘hard’ skills, I’ve found that I have improved my collaboration and communication skills and become a much more confident person.
