Program overview Do you have a passion for customer service? During the 12 month program, you will embark on a series of rotations across our Retail Business functions: this may include time in our branch network; lending, business strategy & operations support areas. The Consumer Graduate program will give you a deep experience of working within our Retail teams You will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to fast track your career in the financial services industry. You will work with teams to improve and develop strategies to help achieve our Service Promise. We will invest in your development by providing you with technical and soft skills training allowing you to gain hands on experience in each of your rotations. All rotations are designed to build broad knowledge and skills and form professional networks to fast track your success as a Banker of the future!

Future career opportunities As a Consumer Graduate within Westpac, you will gain experience across a diverse range of areas. This program provides you with an awesome opportunity to get up close and personal with the heart and soul of Consumer's customers. You’ll have an opportunity to fast track your career in the Industry and gain exposure to the behind-the-scenes business functions that support our Branch teams. Our Consumer program is designed to provide accelerated development and a career path to being a Retail Banker or a role supporting Retail – for both graduates and current employees who are passionate about building a career in banking. Don’t just believe us, hear from our recent graduate. Georgia, Consumer Graduate Degree Studied: Bachelor of Arts What rotations did you experience as part of the program? My first rotation was in Retail operations, where I was exposed to our front-line branch network of bankers and customers. My second rotation was through Product, where I spent time with the Service Quality team, the Payments Strategy team and our Pricing team. During my time in this rotation I helped to review the processes we have in place for our customers going through key life moments, worked with market leading payment strategists to deliver a thought leadership event and spent time with a large-scale change team that was designing a system to revolutionise how we price consumer deposits. It was a whirlwind of learning and developing. Finally, I experienced time in Customer Care – working on a project with our insights team who use speech analytics to drive process improvement and simplification. I’m also working with our Lean Transformation partners to deliver a project that aims to optimise how we work with another area of the bank. What has been a key learning for you during the graduate program? On day one, we were told by our very own CIO that as Grads it was our job to ‘think’. While this might seem like an obvious thing for a Grad in any organisation to do, as a Westpac Grad, you aren’t just looking at PowerPoint decks all day, you are empowered to think critically and laterally, you are supported and encouraged to speak up and you are expected to take responsibility and ownership of real decisions and outcomes. What has been a standout moment for you? One great moment for me was dancing in a flash mob with one of our general managers at her quarterly offsite in front of a hundred people. It was both terrifying and hilarious but it’s a great example of life as a Westpac Grad – each day is different, challenging, exhilarating and inspiring.
