Hear from another of our 2016 Graduates
Meet Tate, Project Delivery Professionals
Why would you recommend this graduate program?
It is an exciting and fast paced stream where you’ll find yourself solving business problems and delivering customer solutions. The work is diverse and could involve helping merge core banking platforms, implementing new features online or even running project innovation workshops. Expect to be involved in just about anything as you turn business ideas into customer reality.
What rotations have you experienced?
Analyst in Portfolio Optimisation
Less than 3 months into the grad program I was given the opportunity to redesign and authenticate Westpac’s Consumer Banking Projects Metrics Portfolio. This then fed into a scorecard report that was sent to the Chief Customer Officer every month (talk about pressure!)
Business BA Westpac Live MAD Team
A Business Analyst working on the MAD Team…..What does that even mean?! It means I got to help manage the pipeline of work for the December to March period of the Westpac Live Mobile Application Development (MAD) team. Expect to see Android Pay, the option for customers to switch to eStatements when upgrading their app, and working on a top secret project due to launch late 2017.
How have you developed across your graduate year?
This last year has been a rollercoaster of workplace learning and personal development. Westpac’s graduate program has opened my eyes as to what it truly means to “learn on the job”. Being thrown into a number of challenging environments has taught me to thrive outside of my comfort zone, ask the right questions and understand what it truly takes to move an idea from the whiteboard into the hands of 2.9 million digitally active customers.
