What was the best business project you were able to work on during your Internship?
During my internship, I was placed in a change team within Business Banking Services. Working in this team meant that I was involved in the continuous improvement of operational processes and transformational projects within the business. Working within continuous improvement and having the opportunity to lead my own change initiatives was incredibly rewarding as I was able to learn a process and see a tangible improvement during my 10 week internship.

What do you love most about working as an Intern at Westpac?
Completing a summer internship during my penultimate year of university was an invaluable experience. The opportunity to enter the workplace to test myself and develop professional skills held me in good stead upon the completion of my education. Westpac was the ideal place to undertake my internship as summer interns are given real work, real business problems and get to undertake projects with tangible benefits for the bank. In short, you don’t take coffee orders!

What did it mean to you to secure a Graduate role following your Internship?
For me, accepting a Graduate role at Westpac was a no-brainer for a number of reasons. First and foremost, Westpac is an incredible business to work for and the graduate/intern experience is second to none. Secondly, the diversity of work and opportunities available to interns and graduates during the program and beyond ensures that you are set up for a successful career. Most importantly, I had fantastic experiences throughout my internship. I was challenged, pushed and supported – this was exactly what I was looking for in an internship!

Why would you recommend completing an Internship at Westpac Group?
Westpac Group is a fantastic place to work. The workplace culture, diversity and development opportunities available ensure that the Group is an employer of choice for everybody who works here. Undertaking the summer internship program is the best way to gain a foothold and build a foundation in this business. I thoroughly enjoyed my time as an Intern; I’m still here and loving it a few years later!
